Help & Advice

What will happen to my status and contribution payments in the existing social security system (SSK, Bağkur, Emekli Sandığı)?

Enrollment in the Private Pension System will not affect your status in the social security institution that you are affiliated with. Contribution payments made to the existing social security system and the Private Pension System are independent of each other. The Private Pension System acts as a complementary system to the existing social security system and is managed by the private sector. Regardless of your enrollment in the social security system, through your enrollment in the Private Pension System and your contribution payments , you receive separate pension payments at the end of the term. In the Private Pension System, you direct your investments yourself, and also take advantage of tax advantages on both the contribution payments you make and the pension payments you receive. The time spent in the Private Pension System cannot be combined with the time spent in other social security institutions.

  1. In what investment instruments do the pension companies invest the contribution payments that I make?

The pension companies must offer you at least 3 different pension funds for you to choose among.

  2. When are the contribution payments made and when are they channeled into investments?

While the contribution payments can be automatically made through your credit card or bank account, they may also be made through EFT/Money Transfer or as cash payments at the bank.
