What is Şifrematik?

**Developed to provide extra security in your Garanti BBVA Internet/Mobile* transactions, Şifrematik is a "Single-Use PIN" generating device that can only be run with your special PIN code.**

After you perform your transaction in Garanti BBVA Internet/Mobile with a PIN generated by Şifrematik, neither you nor another Şifrematik user may use the same PIN again.

Advantages of Şifrematik

You can carry your Şifrematik with you at all times and access Garanti BBVA Internet/Mobile safely and easily from anywhere and even via different devices.

You don't need to worry about forgetting your password.

You should never share your Şifrematik with anyone and keep it with you at all times for your security.

While determining your Şifrematik PIN code, you should avoid using easy-to-guess numbers like your date of birth or same or consecutive numbers. You should not share your PIN code with anyone, including the employees of our bank.

You should absolutely not share the PINs generated by Şifrematik with anyone, including the employees of our bank.

Points to consider while using your Şifrematik

* Şifrematik can also be used to log in to Garanti BBVA Mobile; however, Şifrematik requests cannot be submitted via Garanti BBVA Mobile.

Methods of Use

To log in to Garanti BBVA Internet/Mobile with Şifrematik:

Enter your Customer Number and Password in the relevant fields on the Garanti BBVA Internet/Mobile login page and press LOGIN.

Press the arrow button at the bottom right corner of Şifrematik.

When the text "PIN" appears on the screen, enter the 4-digit PIN Code that you previously determined.

If you enter the 4-digit PIN Code incorrectly too many times, Şifrematik will lock itself for security purposes.

When the text APPLI _ appears on your Şifrematik's screen, press 1. Your single-use 6-digit PIN will appear on the screen. With this PIN, you can log in to Garanti BBVA Internet Banking and perform transactions as you wish.

To use 444 0 333 Garanti BBVA Customer Communication Center with Şifrematik:

You can perform your transactions over 444 0 333 Garanti BBVA Customer Communication Center by using your Şifrematik when you are asked to enter your Garanti BBVA Customer Communication Center password.

Depending on the type of transaction you wish to perform, you are required to enter your Garanti BBVA Customer Communication Center password after entering your customer number or card number. At this point, press the arrow button at the bottom right corner of Şifrematik.

When the text "PIN" appears on the screen, enter the 4-digit PIN Code that you previously determined.

If you enter the 4-digit PIN Code incorrectly 5 times, Şifrematik will lock itself for security purposes.

When the text APPLI _ appears on your Şifrematik's screen, press 1. Your single-use 6-digit PIN will appear on the screen. With this PIN, you can Garanti BBVA Customer Communication Center and perform transactions as you wish.

Şifrematik Request and Activation

You can submit a Şifrematik request only through Garanti BBVA Internet Banking. To do this, you can follow these steps in Garanti BBVA Internet Banking: My Profile >> Password/PIN Transactions >> Şifrematik Transactions. Your Şifrematik device will be delivered to your address.

Şifrematik Activation

To start using the Şifrematik delivered to your address, you first need to change the standard PIN Code of your Şifrematik. The standard PIN Code of your Şifrematik is 1234.

To change the standard PIN Code:

Press the arrow button at the bottom right corner of Şifrematik.

When the text PIN appears on the screen, enter Şifrematik's standard PIN Code as 1234.

When the text NEW PIN appears on the screen, enter the 4-digit PIN Code that you want to use on Şifrematik. Your new PIN Code should not be composed of consecutive or repetitive numbers such as 1234 and 1111.

When you see the text PIN CONF on the screen, reenter the 4-digit PIN Code that you have determined in the previous step.

When the text NEW PIN CONF appears on the screen, it means that your Şifrematik's PIN code has been changed. Now, you can run your Şifrematik with your own PIN Code and generate "Single-use PINs" that are valid for 36 seconds by pressing the arrow button at the bottom right corner of Şifrematik.

To use Garanti BBVA Internet Banking or 444 0 333 Garanti BBVA Customer Communication Center with these "Single-use PINs" that you will generate with your Şifrematik, you first need to activate your Şifrematik through Garanti BBVA Internet Banking.

To activate your Şifrematik through Garanti BBVA Internet Banking, you need to log in by using your current PIN, and you can start using your Şifrematik after entering the "Single-use PIN" generated by your Şifrematik under Şifrematik transactions in the Settings menu.

PIN Code Reactivation

If you need to get your first PIN Code for your Şifrematik or a new one due to locking of the device because of too many incorrect code entries, you can get your PIN code or create a new one by using a valid Bonus Card, Money Card, Flexi Card, Miles&Smiles Card, American Express Card or Paracard of your own.

If you own a valid Bonus Card, Flexi Card, Miles&Smiles credit card, or Paracard:

Enter your card number, password and PUK code in the relevant fields of the Şifrematik PIN Code Reactivation form.

Your 8-digit Şifrematik Reactivation Code will appear on the screen. Press the arrow button at the bottom right corner of your Şifrematik and enter the Şifrematik Reactivation Code.

The text NEW PIN will appear on the screen. Enter the new 4-digit PIN code that you want to use on Şifrematik. Your new PIN Code should not be composed of consecutive or repetitive numbers such as 1234 and 1111.

When you see the text PIN CONF on the screen, reenter the 4-digit PIN Code that you have determined in the previous step.

When the text NEW PIN CONF appears on the screen, it means that your Şifrematik's PIN code has been changed.

Corporate Garanti BBVA Internet Banking customers, as well as our customers who don’t have a Garanti BBVA credit card or Paracard, must go to the nearest Garanti BBVA branch to reactivate their locked Şifrematiks.

Setting Additional Confirmation

Setting additional confirmation ensures that the content of your transactions is transmitted mistake-free in case of technical problems that may arise on your computer or problems that may be caused by malware.

If you opt for additional confirmation and set an amount, you will be asked to provide a final confirmation for transactions at that amount and above to be completed. You can give this final confirmation by using the verification code sent to your Şifrematik or your mobile phone with an SMS by the bank. Additional confirmation may not be required for transactions that are previously saved by you or ordered for money transfer. If the Bank deems necessary, it may require an additional confirmation from you for only the relevant transaction even if you did not determine additional confirmation for your transactions.

For additional confirmation with Şifrematik in Garanti BBVA Internet Banking:

Start your Şifrematik by typing your PIN code and then press "2" after you see the text APPLI_ on the screen.

Following the directions on the transaction page in Garanti BBVA Internet Banking, enter the information requested from you into the relevant fields of your Şifrematik device.

You can confirm your transaction by entering your single-use 6-digit signature appearing on your Şifrematik's screen into Your Şifrematik Signature field on the transaction page in Garanti BBVA Internet Banking.
