Garanti BBVA conducts 12 Giant Men Basketball Academies (12 DABO) project under the leadership of Turkish Basketball Federation since 2002.
12 DABO introduced basketball to more than 55 thousand children within 15 years, with the objective to inspire basketball culture among small children, to popularize basketball across Turkey, to spread basketball love to entire country, to develop a conscious basketball audience and to raise future sportsmen and sportswomen, referees and sport managers.
As of 2017, with the intention to raise future professional basketball players, 12 Giant Men Basketball Academies train the players that are selected at the end of scouting period. These children trained by national team coaches in each hub, to build the youth grassroots of Turkish basketball. In 2018, 12 DABO started their activities in 24 hubs at the first stage and they aim to be operational in 81 cities in the upcoming 3 years.
